Our Aquilion ONE 640 slice CT scanner has significant advantages over other conventional CT scanners:

It is the WORLD’S most powerful and advanced scanner– 640 slices vs. the 64 slice machines which are generally currently regarded as ‘state of the art’.

It is the ONLY scanner able to image entire organs, including the heart, in one rotation (0.35 seconds) giving increased accuracy

It has the HIGHEST spatial resolution of any scanner – 0.3mm (vs. >0.5mm for 64 slice scanners) also increasing its accuracy

It delivers the LOWEST radiation dose of any multi-detector scanner.

It is the ONLY scanner able to accurately image and quantify the vulnerable soft cholesterol-rich plaques (‘furring-up’) of the coronary arteries, which is the most likely to rupture and cause a heart attack

It is the ONLY scanner allowing dynamic imaging of moving joints

The open scanner reduces claustrophobia – in the majority of cases patients are positioned ‘feet first’ rather than ‘head first’ thereby keeping the patients head out of the bore of the scanner

It is very quiet

CARDIAC

The father of a client had been going downhill for several months..from being a sprightly and active man, he had become a pale shadow of his former self. He was no longer able to walk and exercise as he used to and had become increasingly housebound by his fatigue and shortness of breath.

We intervened, and within a day, he had the appropriate cardiac investigations and the decision was made that he needed to have a cardiac operation. The appropriate cardiac surgeon visited him later that afternoon and he was scheduled for an operation the following day which was successfully performed.

The patient is now well after having had his care expedited ….No red tape, no fuss, just direct access to the best medical care, the way medicine should always be. Comfortable, compassionate and high quality.

Time is muscle is a saying that cardiologists use to describe how important it is to expedite cardiac emergencies like heart attacks…

Our organisation understands this, from the inside, and is therefore able to steer patients clear of the bottlenecks.

CANCER

We received a call from a client who had just been given the devastating news that he had been diagnosed with cancer of the colon. Despite having the means to pay for the best treatment, he was told that he would have to undergo national health service treatment which could only started several days later.

We were able to reassure and advise the client immediately. An appointment in the leading oncology clinic in London was organised two hours later that afternoon with a ‘front of field’ specialist.

The client was reviewed, a treatment plan was quickly agreed and instigated and the client was delighted with the speed, professionalism and compassion of the service he received.

He had bypassed all the red tape and clutter, and had immediately found the doctor best qualified to treat him…by using our organisation’s ‘inside track’.

The client was recently reviewed by the oncologist after the treatment was concluded, his latest review shows that his cancer has been eradicated and the patient has been told that he has had a full cure.

In medicine time is critical and priceless.

CHEST PAIN

This is the symptom we all dread, fearing the worst, a crippling and possibly fatal heart attack.

A 45 year old businessman has sudden severe and crushing chest pain. He is rushed to the nearest A and E department where he is told that the ECG and his blood tests are normal. He is advised to return later that day for repeat blood tests as a heart attack cannot be ruled out.

He contacts us when he gets back to his hotel. We speak to an expert cardiologist who is part of our network of specialists, the client sees the cardiologist 2 hrs later, further blood tests are obtained, a CT angiogram is performed the following day and the patient gets the all clear….much to his relief, he is told that his coronary arteries are whistle clean.

A diagnosis of oesophageal spasm, a benign condition, is made and the patient is successfully diagnosed and treated, all within a few hours of the initial call.

A young sportsman gets ill in Hong Kong suddenly.

He is rushed to the casualty department, then admitted to the intensive care unit as his breathing and vital signs deteriorate rapidly. He is ventilated and the family are told that he has severe pneumonia and may even die.

We intervene and liase with the local team, both the family and the local intensive team are reassured because they are dealing with an expert in critical care medicine.

The investigations and scans are relayed electronically to us and within minutes, a plan has been agreed by direct communication between us and the local intensive care team. The patient recovers and is extubated two days later and is discharged home well a few days later.

He goes on to make a full recovery and resume an active and successful sporting career.

Our expertise cuts across international boundaries. It carries the respect by virtue of the quality of the doctors who are on our panel. This case study illustrates our organisation’s ability to provide medical solutions on a global scale.
